Walking down Old Street on my way to work one morning, I happened to catch a glimpse of this fearsome machine taking down a building.Read More
It was called Much Binding and was in Cromer, Norfolk. It's a great bookshop. Not just books, but prints, maps, old photos. Amazing.Read More
Wednesday 24 April. At about 7.50pm, I was watching the sun setting at Cromer in Norfolk when I saw the inshore lifeboat east of the pier. As I went down to the beach to get a closer look, the boat turned towards the shore.Read More
A video of an animated gif I made when I took a series of photos and saw that they would be interesting as an animated sequence.
Here are some photographs (and a brief video) of Bonsai trees that I took at WindyBank Bonsai the other day.
Here's another video from a recent trip to Turkey, which I shot in 4k with my iPhone 7. This is of a short boat trip on the beautiful Azmak River in Akyaka in the Gulf of Gököva in Turkey. I recommend trying to watch it in HD (4K) if you can. It's really worth it...
We were in the Mesale café in the Arasta Bazaar in Istanbul. The band assembled first, tuned up and then started playing some sublime music. Then the Dervish came up and performed his whirling dance.
Unimpressive low speed impact which I didn't even see until it had happened, though my hind-brain did register the noise of the impact. However, my dashcam recorded it.Read More

In June 2013, we took a day-boat to Sedir Island, also known as Cleopatra Island. After some time exploring the island, the boat readied for the journey back. As it turned in the water, it's propellor churned up the shallow, sandy seabed.
Cleopatra Island is a small island in the Gulf of Gökova in the southwestern Aegean Sea off the coast of Ula, Turkey. According to legend, Anthony and Cleopatra swam here and the sands were brought by ships from North Africa. It has been said that this type of sand can only be found in Egypt.
This is video of a trip across the Bosphorus from Karaköy in the north-west across the straits to Kadiköy in the south-east. Made mainly with an iPhone 4S, in April 2014.

A video of Rani, my Bengal cat, playing with a hairband in her box. Hairbands are her favourite toy by far. You may notice that the box has been systematically chewed at the edges. One day, soon, it will be no more.
Also, I have a very noisy dishwasher.

So this is going on right now. They're changing all the water pipes in our street but the water main has broken outside the house. The effect is of a nice, calming, babbling brook - as long as you don't look out the window at the muddy reality.Read More
OctoBeardFest day 19. Bored of taking photos of myself so I just made a video in my realistic (beacause its totally real) undersea lair.
There doesn't seem to be much beard growth since last time but there is actually. It's getting a little bushier and stragglier. When I had a 'tache and goatee-thing as a younger man it was all silky smooth and soft but now I'm old it's all harsh and wiry beacause I'm old so it's all harsh and wiry.
Enormous thanks to Professor Hardev Pandha for his donation. He is the scientist working on the immunotherapy treatments for cancer that I am fundraising for. I was deeply touched that he is supporting me. I'm over half way to my target and I'd love a few more donors. Head over to my justgiving page to read more and make a donation.
