A boat propellor stirs up the seabed (video)

In June 2013, we took a day-boat to Sedir Island, also known as Cleopatra Island. After some time exploring the island, the boat readied for the journey back. As it turned in the water, it's propellor churned up the shallow, sandy seabed.

Cleopatra Island is a small island in the Gulf of Gökova in the southwestern Aegean Sea off the coast of Ula, Turkey. According to legend, Anthony and Cleopatra swam here and the sands were brought by ships from North Africa. It has been said that this type of sand can only be found in Egypt.

OctoBeardfest under the sea (video)

OctoBeardFest day 19. Bored of taking photos of myself so I just made a video in my realistic (beacause its totally real) undersea lair.

There doesn't seem to be much beard growth since last time but there is actually. It's getting a little bushier and stragglier. When I had a 'tache and goatee-thing as a younger man it was all silky smooth and soft but now I'm old it's all harsh and wiry beacause I'm old so it's all harsh and wiry.

Enormous thanks to Professor Hardev Pandha for his donation. He is the scientist working on the immunotherapy treatments for cancer that I am fundraising for. I was deeply touched that he is supporting me. I'm over half way to my target and I'd love a few more donors. Head over to my justgiving page to read more and make a donation.

24 things to do before you turn 30: say hi to a large... turtle? (video)

This video of a very large Common Snapping Turtle in Algonquin Provincial Park, Canada, which I shot in 2009, has recently been included in a Buzzfeed video called 24 Things To Do Before You Turn 30.

Nice enough, although it's captioned as 'say hi to a large tortoise', which it isn't, but I would say would be a good thing to do at any time of life. I didn't get to do it until I was 45, and that was OK. And it was a turtle. But anyway.

You get about a second of turtle action at 16 seconds in. I like the sub-heading of the piece, which is 'definitely go pee in every ocean'. Who wouldn't want to do that, at any age?
