King Edward VII Recreation Ground
My brother and me in King Edward's Recreation Ground, Willesden. Years later, I did a painting of this place.
We built sandcastles that washed away
We built sand castles that washed away, I made you cry when I walked away…
Smoking woman
This photograph I took in Tooting from the top deck of a bus in 2015 is getting a lot of views in my Flickr account.
It is of a woman having a cigarette in an alley just off Mitcham Road, by Tooting Broadway. She appears to be pregnant, is what it is, I think.
Repost: “Edwin Hubble Discovers the Universe”
In celebration of the Hubble telescope’s thirtieth birthday, I’m reposting this article from Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD), as I love the image on this glass photographic plate.
This (photo) reminds me of that (painting)
The photograph on the left is one I took of a decorative old water pump in the garden of Paycocke’s House, in Coggeshall, Essex in the summer. The painting on the right is one I painted in 1986 called The blue conduit…
Exquisite miniature trees
Here are some photographs of Bonsai trees that I took at WindyBank Bonsai.
Istanbul is online
Just as the Turkish government has allowed YouTube again in Turkey, I've uploaded the last of the photos selected from my trip to Istanbul in April. 205 images selected from 519 taken in total.
Istanbul photo diary
These are the eleven photos I took for my daily photo journal while on a trip to Istanbul in April 2014.
Yesterday was a good photography day
I took a walk at lunchtime yesterday, and as always, had my camera with me. I walked from my office to Guildford Railway Station, where I bought a sandwich. Then I walked back a different way.
These are the photos I took on my walk.
Man came, fixed streetlamp, left
They came in a van with a cherry picker on the back and did something to all the street lamps in my street. Replaced the internals for modern LED units, I think. I'll know if they are any different when they come on tonight.
The last seven days on blipfoto
It's been quite a varied and interesting week. Spring has sprung and the light has improved considerably. Here are the last seven days as recorded in my daily photo journal.
I saw this dramatic cloud formation from my office yesterday
This photograph of an impressive cloud formation was my daily photo journal entry for Tuesday 28 January 2014.
Wrong boots
Today, for the first time in my life, I managed to go out without noticing that I was wearing two different types of boots today.
A visit to Turkey
June 2013 - another visit to Turkey to see friends in Istanbul and then to spend some time on the lovely south coast soaking in the rays, swimming in the warm, blue sea and taking some photographs.
Photographs from a visit to Istanbul
A set of photographs I took during a brief visit to Istanbul, Turkey, at the end of March.
Ever so slight packaging overkill
I just received a package from Amazon containing an SD card reader (it's that tiny little white box). As you can see, it arrived in perfect condition. Thank you Amazon. I think your packaging was a little bit too much though.
