The second is from some point near the end of that decade, when I went on a school trip to Jodrell Bank Observatory which is the home of the still impressive Lovell Telescope. When it was constructed in 1955, the telescope was the largest steerable dish radio telescope in the world at 76.2 m (250 ft) in diameter Awesome.
